The text for this Unit is Horizons 2000+ Career Studies.
To complete this unit, you will need to:
- Go to www.16personalities.com and take the personality quiz. You will end up with four letters, eg., ENFP. Put those on the top left of your, 'What I've Learned About Myself,' record sheet, where it says, "My Personality Type is _ _ _ _."
- Read about your personality type on the same website. Do you agree? Is it accurate? See what your friends and family think!
- Download the Multiple Intelligences Survey. Follow the instructions to complete the survey, and put your results on the "What I've Learned About Myself" sheet where it says, "My strongest learning mode is..."
- Download the sheet, "What's Important to Me?" and rate the things that matter to you by putting a 1 beside the most important thing,then 2 beside the next most important thing, and so forth until all of the things on the list are rated. List your top three things on the "What I've Learned About Myself" sheet, where it says, "The things I value most are...."
- Download the Interests, Aptitudes and Skills chart. Go to page 16 of the text book, and choose 5 topics from the CATEGORY column. fill out the chart as directed in the text.
- In the text book, do the Learning Style Activity #12 on page 36. Fill in what you learn on your, "What I've Learned About Myself" sheet where it says, "My Learning Style Is..."
- In the text book, go to page 38 and do the Right/Left Brain Activity #14. You will be left, right, or evenly split between left and right. Fill this in on the, "What I've Learned About Myself" sheet where it says, "I am Right/Left Brained."
- Do Activity #16, the Personality Quiz Activity, on page 40 of the text. Enter what you learn on the "What I've Learned About Myself" sheet where it says, "My personality is...". Check off your highest trait(s).
- On page 16 of the text, there is an, "Interests, Aptitudes and Strengths" chart. Choose at least 5 of the categories and fill the chart out the way the example is done in the text. Make sure to include the chart in your binder.
- Finally, complete the Major Research Project #1. The marking rubric for this project is here.
